Bryan Schuerman joined the WHAG Weather Team in September 2011. He is very passionate about weather and has a great respect for it. "All I have wanted to be in my life is a broadcast meteorologist. I remember being glued to the TV when I was a little kid watching nothing but the The Weather Channel and watching local coverage whenever severe weather was around. My job is to bring viewers the most up-to-date local forecast and weather information to protect them and their families."
Bryan began his on-air meteorologist career at WDTV 5 News/WVFX FOX 10 News in Bridgeport (Clarksburg), West Virginia as Weekend Meteorologist and Weekday General Assignment/Weather Reporter. Bryan also worked at WTRF-TV 7 News in Wheeling after graduating college where he was a freelance meteorologist He is also a member of the National Weather Association, and a trained weather spotter for the National Weather Service Forecast Office in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
Originally from Lawrenceburg, Indiana, Bryan graduated from the California University of Pennsylvania with a Bachelors of Science in Science & Technology with emphasis in Broadcast Meteorology and a minor in Music, and is also working on his Masters of Arts in Teaching with Initial Certifications in Earth/Space Science, Grades 7-12. He also works for the Washington County School System as a substitute teacher at most of the middle and/or high schools, but most of the time, he ends up at North Hagerstown High School.
Bryan is excited about living in Maryland, and looks forward to getting out and meeting everyone in the four state region. When not at work, Bryan enjoys cooking, visiting with friends and family, and spending time with his family dogs when at home. He looks forward to getting involved in the community and meeting viewers, so if you see Bryan out and about make sure you say hello and feel free to ask him about the weather!
