Merris-Badcock-Web-Photo_2015.jpgMerris Badcock joined WHAG News in November 2013 as a reporter in our Virginia Bureau. In June 2015, Merris was brought to WHAG in Hagerstown to cover the Eastern Panhandle of West Virginia. She continues her commitment to positive viewer impact through thorough news coverage, maintaining multiple social media platforms and taking part in community volunteerism and appearances.

Merris got her broadcast journalism start hosting a weekly community update show during her freshman year at Florida State University. While studying in Tallahassee, Merris interned in the WCTV (CBS) newsroom and reported for Florida State Headlines, a campus news program that highlighted outstanding academic work in the FSU community. During her junior and senior years, Merris also reported for Seminole Sports Magazine and SunSports (now Fox Sports Florida).

After spending two years living and working in the public relations and event planning industries in New York City, Merris returned to broadcasting. She loves to travel, explore the outdoors and is excited to uncover the 4State area through her stories.
