About Us

Full Service Animal Health Clinic, proud to be the only practice in Washington County to pass the rigorous standards for AAHA (American Animal Hospital Association) Accreditation.  We are also a certified Cat Friendly Practice.   We offer Pet Portal to manage your pet’s health online and also Paw Rewards, our online pet pharmacy & pet store.

Dr. Virginia Scrivener, Dr. Tara Cumley and Dr. Marie Sausen and our entire staff will treat your pet like family!    Our full service animal health clinic offers medical and surgical  services, routine vaccinations, pet care tips, monthly specials and more.  

We also actively support many community projects such as Satellite Adoption, Military Canine Care packages, MS Walk, Canine Cancer Ride, Veterinary Blood Bank and Mudd Volleyball.

Meet Our Doctors

 Virginia-Scrivener.jpg Virginia Scrivener, DVM, CCRP, CVPP is originally from this area. She attended Boonsboro High School and HCC before heading to Ohio State where she earned her DVM in 1988. She opened the Animal Health Clinic of Funkstown in 1993, and she earned her CCRP (Certified Canine Rehabilitation Practitioner) and her CVPP (Certified Veterinary Pain Practitioner) in 2013. She has 3 dogs and 1 cat: 'Katie', a golden retriever, that has had hip surgery and a broken leg repaired. A mischievous golden retriever named 'Ginger', and a large breed terrier mix named 'Dallas'. Dr. Scrivener also rescued a black and white domestic shorthair named 'Zora'
 Tara-Cumley.jpg Tara Cumley, DVM attended Musselman High School, and WVU before heading to Tuskegee University where she earned her DVM in 2008.  In addition to her husband David, son Jacob, and daughters Gracie and Emma, her family also includes 3 dogs (Diesel a Rotti, Molly a Beagle, and Sugar a Terrier mix), 2 cats (Cleo and a one-eyed rescue cat named Bandit).
