BASE: Seniors Driving Surge of Success

STATE COLLEGE - It's been quite a two week surge for Rob Cooper and the Penn State baseball squad.
The Nittany Lions have won eight of their last nine to get back to the .500 mark.

There's simply no place like home this year for the team.
The Nittany Lions are a perfect 7-0 at Medlar Field this season.
It's Penn State's best home start since 1980.
The winning streak has come in large part thanks to the production of the Nittany Lion seniors.
Three of Penn State's top five batters are in their final year in Blue and White.
Beyond stats, the seniors have provided a leadership spark under first-year head coach Rob Cooper that's helped the team transition.
“All of our seniors, and I mean all of them, have really done an unbelievable job in buying into what we're doing, and being hungry, and being coachable,” Cooper says. “And you know it's something that you really, you can't plan on. But I'm extremely grateful and thankful to those guys.”
The Nittany Lions will try to carry what they've built here at home on the road with them this weekend.
Penn State travels to Purdue for a three-game Big Ten series.
