Frederick Police Investigate Multiple Thefts from Motor Vehicles

- FREDERICK, Md. - The Frederick Police Department is investigating a string of thefts from motor vehicles in the City. 

Officers said they've seen an increase in thefts from vehicles. They said the suspects are gaining access to primarily unsecured vehicles, and stealing valuables within. 

Nine thefts from vehicles were reported mostly overnight between July 30 and August 12, 2014, police say. Items taken were cash, purses, and electronics. 

Police are asking residents to keep their car doors locked, report suspicious activity when they see it, remove all valuables and/or keep them out of sight, park your vehicle in a well-lighted area if possible, and install an alarm system and use it.
