FREDERICK, Md. - In Frederick, a highly anticipated addition is expected to be the crown jewel that will respect the city's rich history, and honor the communities values.
A 3-D design and with photos of the new Downtown Frederick Hotel and Conference Center at Carroll Creek were revealed on Thursday by several project and County officials; including Mayor Randy McClement, and County Executive Jan Gardner.
City officials say the Downtown Frederick Hotel and Conference Center is expected to bring more tourists to the downtown area, and is expected to help add more than 100 jobs, while meeting the future growth of the city.
The new hotel is expected to include about 280 rooms, a rooftop terrace, and a ballroom.
"It's proven itself. The phase one had about a $50 million return in investment. We hope that and maybe more on phase two,” Said the Mayor of Frederick, Randy McClement.
Officials say they are planning to begin construction by 2018, and expect to open the new site by 2020.
