BETHESDA, Md - Healthy bodies, strong minds, and better learners are top priorities for grassroots organization Real Food for Kids Montgomery.
The organization held a gala and a silent auction with a specific goal for students in

The organization has been around since 2012 and one board member believes it’s important people understand the issues.
"Awareness is one thing so just continuing to get the message out about why we exist and why we want to improve the food in the schools" says Joseph Hawkins, a Board Member.
Money raised from sponsorships and silent auctions will help Real Food For Kids
"I hope that we can get reduced in the amount of sugar, the amount of added sugar in a lot of products, fewer processed products, more cooking from scratch so the base not apple sauce but apples" says Justin Kelly, parent of student in Montgomery County.
The organization is hoping to raise $10,000 to continue their mission. More than 70 sponsors and silent bidders participated in the auction.
