Postal workers find ways to stay cool in hot weather

The heat index is in the triple digits

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Md. - It was another day of heat index temperatures reaching triple digits. Those who work outside are finding ways to stay cool on the job.

Postal workers deliver the mail no matter the temperature and often have to walk outside to do so.
City letter carrier Dave Gartner says drinking water is key. He also tries to stay in the shade when possible.
Even though today's temperatures were abnormally high, there's still something to be thankful for.

"It is something to get used to, however, I will say for me, the heat is a lot easier to deal with than the rain, sleet and snow," said Garnter.

You can expect temperatures to remain in the 90's for the rest of the week.
