The bill lowers from 75 to 50 the required seating capacity for a business to get a liquor license.
The Washington County Delegation hopes this will make it easier for smaller restaurants to thrive in Washington County and revitalize the downtown area.
"We're trying to help the city revitalization of downtown Hagerstown is very important to all of us, and this is something they want. We talked to the liquor board. They felt okay with it," said Del. Andrew Serafini, (R) - chairman of the Washington County Delegation.
O'Malley is expected to sight the bill May 15th. You can read the bill by clicking here.
