HAGERSTOWN, Md. - Law enforcement officials want you to remember to “Click it or Ticket” when you are behind the wheel.
Washington County Sheriff deputies say they are going to crack down on drivers and passengers who are not wearing seatbelts inside the vehicle.
Deputies say they are going to keep an eye out to make sure everyone obeys the law. They say that as the weather continues to warm up, more people will drive on the roads, which increases the possibility of an accident.
Officials say wearing a seat belt will save lives.
"It's so important on the safety aspect as far as keeping people restrained during an accident,” says Carly Hose, P.I.O. for Washington County Sheriff's Office. “Lives are saved by seatbelts."
