Hagerstown Cultural Trail nearing completion

HAGERSTOWN, Md. - The opening of Hagerstown’s Cultural Trail is a little less than three months away, and city officials said their dream is nearing reality.
City Engineer Rodney Tissue said the nuts and bolts of the project are in place, but they are still rounding up artwork to go on the trail.
Tissue said they expect to receive sculptures from several nationally and internationally recognized artists across the globe.
In addition to the pieces, city officials are still searching for artists and photographers to contribute to the Faces of Hagerstown Mural.
“If you have a photographer, or if you have a cell phone, go out and take some pictures of people in Hagerstown and submit it. Your mural may make it through the jury and be on the fence,” Tissue said.
Photograph submissions can be sent to the Washington County Arts Council.
The Cultural Trail is set to open on June 17.
