HAGERSTOWN, Md - With summer months just around the corner, Hagerstown officials are encouraging residents to get out doors and get in shape.
Registration for the first ever Hagerstown Park Fitness Challenge is now open.
The ten week challenge stretches from May 25th to August 5th.
Participants should complete at least two challenges a week.
Ultimately, by completing 20 challenges, participants can win a prize.
Those prizes include gift cards to theme parks, a trip to Sky Zone, and many more.
The challenges include four walking trails at City Parks, turning an ordinary bench into a strength training workout, burning calories on a playground, and kayaking on Antietam Creek.
"So there's something for every fitness level," Amy Riley, the Recreation Coordinator for city parks says, "Something for every age, something for every interest. There's everything from cardio workouts, to walking trails, to fun with the kids."
There is a $10 registration fee.
That fee reduces if you sign up with a partner or a group.
