HAGERSTOWN, Md. - At the Pangborn Park in Hagerstown, the annual lawn bowling league has formed.

About 10 people came Wednesday to participate in the fun. How lawn bowling works is that there is a little jack ball that is used to throw down the lane. Then the object is to use another oval ball, which is weighted on one side, to throw it to see how close you can get to the jack ball. Edward Lushbaugh, the president of the league, says they have a good group of people who have been playing for years.

“I've been doing this now for about 10 years, some of these folk and women here have been doing it for 30 years. We have one little lady that's 86- years-old, that’s the oldest person of course,” said Lushbaugh.

Lushbaugh says the league is free, and anyone is welcome to come and join in on the fun.
