Three Washington County Students recognized nationwide

Students receive hundreds of dollars for higher education

WILLIAMSPORT, Md. - Students in Washington County are being recognized nationwide for their outstanding academic achievements.

For the second consecutive year, 13 students in the county are being honored for participating in the National Carson Scholars Program.

Out of those students, three of them received $1,000 in scholarship funds to go towards higher education.

The Carson Scholars Fund was founded by Dr. Ben Carson to promote academic excellence and to cultivate future leaders.

The 21st Annual Award Ceremony will be held on April 30 at Martins West in Baltimore, where each student will be honored.

Emma Waite at Cascade Elementary

Sarah Frushour at Pleasant Valley Elementary
