Masked Man Robs Shell Gas Station in Hagerstown

- WASHINGTON COUNTY, Md. - The Washington County Sheriff's Office is searching for a man who robbed a local gas station in Hagerstown early Wednesday morning. 

It happened around 4 a.m., Wednesday, July 23, at the Shell Gas Station located on Maugans Avenue. 

Deputies said a man wearing a dark colored ski mask entered the business and demanded money from the cashier. After taking an undisclosed amount of money, the man fled towards the area of the Waffle House on foot. 

The suspect is described as a black male, about 6'1", with a thin build. The man was last seen wearing dark clothing and had either dread locks or braids hanging out from below the ski mask. Police said the man did not display a weapon and no injuries were reported. 

"Deputies and troopers from the Maryland State Police checked the area, attempting to locate the suspect but we're unable to find the individual," said Deputy First Class and Public Information Officer, Carly Hose.
