MD State Police Arrest Man for Handgun Violation

ALLEGANY COUNTY, Md. - Two troopers from the Maryland State Police Cumberland Barrack were working as security guards at Walmart Friday around 10:26 p.m.

They found a man walking into the store wearing a handgun in a holster on his hip. The man is identified as Angelo Cavallero, 36, of Pennsylvania.

Troopers approached the man and later found two handguns on him. Cavallero told troopers he had a gun permit from Pennsylvania, and was on a road trip and did not realize he was in Maryland.

Cavallero was also found to be in possession of a controlled dangerous substance.

There was no reason to believe Cavallero was about to commit any crimes of violence with the firearms he was carrying.
