Upon arrival officers found a car with extensive damage on the tracks.
An investigation revealed that Raymond Lewis of Cumberland drove his vehicle into the railroad yard and entered an unauthorized access road which was blocked by gates.
His car became stuck in gravel, disabling it on the tracks as an oncoming train approached.
Lewis was able to get out of the car in time, but the vehicle was struck by the train.
He was cited for trespassing and issued a traffic citation for disobeying access restrictions. Lewis was released pending trial at the Allegany County District Court.
There were no injuries in the incident.
