Arrest Made in Reported Stabbing

FREDERICK, Md. - The suspect responsible for the reported stabbing Friday on West Seventh Street turned himself into police Saturday evening.

The suspect has been identified as Daniel Crepin, 28, of Frederick, Maryland.

On Friday around 12:30 p.m., the victim told officers Crepin was in the parking lot of Frederick Memorial Hospital after he approached the victim.

The victim told police there was a physical altercation between them, and during the fight, Crepin slashed the victim with a knife. The victim suffered minor injuries and was treated at Frederick Memorial Hospital.

On Saturday around 3:15 p.m., officers saw Crepin in the area of Prospect Plaza Shopping Center off of South Jefferson Street. A search warrant was out for Crepin and businesses and concerned residents provided assistance.

The suspect later turned himself in around 7 p.m. to Frederick Police. Crepin was taken to Frederick County Central Booking where he was charged with first and second degree assault and reckless endangerment.
