HAGERSTOWN, Md.- Crowds gathered in Washington County on Saturday for a celebration of food, drink, and cultural fun at the 19th Annual Augustoberfest in Hagerstown.
People from all over came to join in on the festivities and to celebrate Hagerstown's rich German heritage.
Within the past two years the festival has grown into a huge event attracting thousands and providing an excellent venue for many local businesses.
The event is supported by its many dedicated volunteers. Most of the left over proceeds from the previous year are used to help the city of Hagerstown.
"The addition this year is the layout," said Karen Giffin, Hagerstown Community Affairs Manager. "We had to enhance the layout because of the number of people."
Augustoberfest continues Sunday with a German car show beginning at 10:30.
