BERKELEY CO, Wv.— A deputy with the Berkeley County Sheriff's Department was injured in a car accident Saturday while on his way to a domestic disturbance call.

Authorities say the officer was driving with his lights and sirens on when he hydroplaned while trying to make a curve.

The patrol vehicle then hit an SUV on Airport Road near Novac Drive. They say rain played a factor in the accident.

The deputy was taken to Berkeley Medical Center with minor injuries, and the driver of the SUV was released at the scene with no injuries.
