Bicyclist Home Recovering After Serious Accident

WASHINGTON COUNTY, Md. - A 16-year-old male was flown to Baltimore Shock Trauma Thursday evening following a serious accident in Hagerstown. 

On Friday, Hagerstown City Police said the teen is back at home recovering. 

The collision happened around 5 p.m. Thursday along 40 Elgin Blvd. They said it involved a bicyclist and another vehicle. MSP Trooper 3 helicopter landed along 251 E. Antietam Street at the old hospital grounds to transport the bicyclist. 

The teenage 
bicyclist was determined to be at fault. Witnesses on scene said the vehicle involved was going through a green light when the bike attempted to cross the roadway. 

Police said the teenager is not facing any charges in this incident.
