BOONSBORO- Holiday weekend celebrations continued today...with hundreds lining the street in Boonsboro for the annual Memorial Day parade.
The parade route began at Boonsboro High School and continued along Main Street to Reeders Alley.
It featured majorette groups, scout troops, floats and pageant queens, just to name a few.
The Boonsboro Middle and High School bands both played, as did the Rohersville Band.
Of course, there was plenty of candy for kids to pick up.
The parade was sponsored by the Clopper-Michael American Legion's Ladies Auxiliary.
Howard Patterson is captain of the Boonsboro American Legion, and was part of the parade.
“This goes on every year and I think it's a great part of the community. People ought to pay more attention to the veterans instead of having a lot of other things going on,” Patterson said.
The celebration began with a wreath-laying ceremony at the World War I monument in front of Town Hall.
