Boy Impaled By Bicycle Brake Handle

- HAGERSTOWN, Md. - A boy riding his bicycle is injured after being impaled in the right side of his kidney area by the brake handle.

It happened Sunday around 10:30 a.m. near Crown Lane behind the A1 Fleet Maintenance repair shop.

The boy frequently rides his bike behind the repair shop every Sunday jumping off ramps, according to Washington County Sheriff's Office.

The boy was flown to Children's National Medical Center in Washington, D.C.

Officials said the boy's injuries are non-life threatening and it took crews approximately one hour to get him in stable condition.
