The accident happened at 4:42 p.m. along 14209 Wayne Highway South.
Washington Township Police said a 2003 Jeep Liberty was driving southbound when it crossed the center line and ran off the left side of the roadway, and over an embankment. They said the vehicle flipped three times before rolling over on to the driver's side.
Fire officials said witnesses on scene had helped out. When emergency crews arrived, a man who had a cut on his arm, said he had pulled the baby from the damaged vehicle. The infant was being held in its carrier by witnesses on scene.
Officials said the driver, Shanee Robinson, 23, of Hagerstown, Md., had been ejected from the vehicle and was flown to York Trauma Center. The infant was taken to Meritus Medical Center.
The area was shut down temporarily Tuesday afternoon. Washington Township Police are investigating this crash.
