Car Fire Spreads to M&T Bank in Hagerstown

HAGERSTOWN, Md. - The Maryland State Fire Marshal's Office is investigating a fire that happened Monday morning at a M&T Bank in Hagerstown. 

The call came in around 11:26 a.m. along 18208 Oak Ridge Drive. 

According to Washington County dispatch, a vehicle caught fire as it was going through the drive thru, and then spread to the bank. 

Jeff Ringer with the Halfway Fire Department told WHAG a pickup truck pulled up to the bank, and the driver noticed smoke coming up from the hood. The driver got out of his vehicle, and the truck burst into flames. The fire then started traveling up through the drive thru. The building sustained smoke damage. 

The bank has been evacuated at this time. No injuries have been reported.

Fire crews from Halfway, Funkstown, Williamsport, and South Hagerstown responded to the scene. 

Washington County Sheriff's Office, and MD State Fire Marshal are investigating.
