Cell Phone Store Robbed in Martinsburg

Martinsburg, W.Va. -- Martinsburg Police are searching for two men in connecting with an armed robbery at a cell phone store. It happened at the Boost Mobile store on Eagle School Road around 7:30 Wednesday night.

Store owner Sandeep Singh told WHAG at first he was not alarmed when the suspects walked into the store wearing ski mask.

“I figured it was people coming in to pay a bill or buy a phone and they had masks on because it was cold outside. Then I asked how I could help them and they pulled a gun on me,” said Singh.

Singh said one of the suspects held him at gun point while the other went behind the counter and into the cash register. After the men got their hands on an undisclosed amount of money they took off.

“They were young,” said Singh. “I’m assuming like 5’5 or 5’7. They were shorter than me and they definitely sounded young.”

The store has surveillance cameras, but after this incident Singh said he plans to install more.

“It was scary but I feel like now I can prepare myself a lot better. I am glad I was working and not one of my employees,” said Singh.
