Corporal Retires After 17.5 Years of Service

- FREDERICK COUNTY, Md. - After 17.5 years of dedicated service, officials say Corporal Michael Sabol retired Monday from the Frederick County Sheriff's Office. 

Deputies say Cpl. Sabol began his career with the Sheriff's Office in January of 1998. He graduated from Western Maryland Police Training Academy and was assigned to Patrol Operations as a Deputy Sheriff. 

Officials say in July 2000 Cpl. Sabol was promoted to the rank of Deputy First Class. In December 2000, he was assigned to the Criminal Investigations Section as a criminal investigator, where he worked for five years focusing his efforts on computer crimes. He also served on the Maryland State Police Crimes Against Children Task Force. 

In December of 2005, Cpl. Sabol was promoted to the rank of Corporal and since then has served as a Patrol Operations Supervisor. 

According to fellow deputies, Cpl. Sabol served in the United State Army as a Military Police Officer from 1983 to 1987. In 1990, Cpl. Sabol attained a B.A. in Criminal Justice from the University of Maryland College Park. 

Deputies with the Frederick County Sheriff's Office say they'd like to thank Cpl. Sabol for his many years of dedicated service.
