Crash Closes U.S. 15 Southbound in Frederick, MD

FREDERICK, Md. Both lanes of U.S. 15 southbound were closed for about an hour this afternoon due to an accident just before 5 p.m. Saturday.

Authorities say a car went off the road and into a construction zone near Old Frederick Road. The car struck a parked vehicle, which then crashed into several pieces of construction equipment.

Police say the work zone was not active at the time of the crash, and they say alcohol does not appear to be a contributing factor to the collision.

The driver was injured and flown to the R. Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore.
