Cumberland Man Facing Attempted Murder Charges

- CUMBERLAND, Md. - Officers with the Cumberland Police Department say a man who was wanted throughout the area on attempted second-degree murder and other charges is now behind bars.

Officers say Dajon Lopez turned himself in to police on Sunday. They say Lopez had used a knife in several assaults.

The incidents happened at a home on the 600 block of Fairview Avenue where officers say they found one victim stabbed in the abdomen and another victim stabbed in the arm. Both were taken to Western Maryland Regional Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.

At that point, Lopez was on the loose after an unsuccessful K9 search.

Lopez is now charged with attempted second-degree murder, first and third-degree burglary and seven counts of assault. He's currently being held at the Allegany County Detention Center on a $825,000 bond.
