Fire Marshal's Office Issues Total Ban on Outdoor Burning

- FREDERICK COUNTY, Md. - For those looking to make a warm camp fire in Frederick County, you'll have to wait.

The Frederick County Fire Marshal's Office had originally issued a total ban on outdoor burning Thursday effective until 6 a.m. Friday, March 14. They've since extended the total ban on outdoor burning through 4 p.m. Friday.

They say all outdoor burning, including recreational fires is prohibited.

The National Weather Service issued a special weather statement earlier Thursday morning for Frederick County that stated conditions consisting of gusty winds, low relative humidity and low fuel moisture will enhance the threat for the spread of wild fires.
