Firefighters Battle Franklin County House Fire

FRANKLIN COUNTY, Pa. - Fire and rescue crews in Franklin County battled a house fire near Mercersburg Tuesday night. 

Officials say 
around 8:45 p.m. they were called to the 5000 block of Rice Hollow Road in Montgomery Township for the reports of a fire. They say three people and their dog were in the house at the time of the fire. Luckily, everyone was able to get out safely. 

However, officials say the house has extensive fire and water damage. The entire back half of the house is a total loss. 

The cause of the fire is still under investigation. The family is currently being assisted by the Red Cross.
