The National Weather Service in State College, Pennsylvania, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and Baltimore/Washington, D.C. has issued a Flash Flood Watch for the following counties in the WHAG Viewing Area:
Garrett County, MD - 11:00 AM Tuesday
All Southern Pennsylvania Counties - 1:00 PM Tuesday
All Maryland, West Virginia and Virginia Counties (EXCEPT Page, Shenandoah & Warren Counties) through 3:00 PM Tuesday.
An area of heavy rain has developed over the Upper Ohio Valley & North Central West Virginia, that is tracking into our region, and will move through and into the Baltimore & Washington, D.C. Metro Areas just in time for the morning commute. This area of rain is capable of producing 2 to 3 inches of rain in less than three hours.
This kind of rain could produce flash flooding in a very short amount of time. Remember, do not attempt to cross roads with water of unknown depth. It only takes less than 6 inches of water to move a vehicle. Turn Around, Don't Drown.
Stay with the WHAG Weather Team during severe weather situations, we'll keep you ahead of the storms.
