Four Arrested After Large Fight in Frederick


FREDERICK, Md. - Four people are facing a slew of charges following a robbery and assault early Monday morning in Frederick. 

The Frederick Police Department said the incident happened around 3 a.m. in the area of Baker Place East. Officers said there was a large fight resulting in two people being taken to area hospitals for treatment.

According to police, they followed a blood trail to an apartment located within the Baker Place East complex. A large group of people believed to be involved in the fight were located inside the apartment. Detectives with the Criminal Investigation Division responded to investigate the incident.

Several other victims, who were involved in the altercation were located. Through the investigation two suspects were identified as being responsible for the assaults. They were identified as David Tyrone Harris Jr. and Daontae Keenan Diggs. 

Further investigation revealed that during the assaults, wallets belonging to the victims were stolen.

While on scene, two other subjects were taken into custody on outstanding arrest warrants not related to the incident. Those subjects were identified as Jewel Bowie and Qualin Benjamin.

Harris Jr. and Diggs were charged with second-degree assault and strong armed robbery. They are currently being held at the Frederick County Adult Detention Center for further processing.
