FREDERICK, Md. -  Residents gathered at the Frederick Department of Public Works Saturday for a program designed to inform the public on city services and departments.

"They will get to know something about every department within the City of Frederick, what services are available and some of the constraints that some of the departments have," said Michelle Bowman, community outreach coordinator with the Frederick City Police Department.

Frederick 101 provided an overview of resources available to those who live in the area. Among the services covered for the one-day program were economic development, parks and recreation and finance.

"We've got thirty residents who signed up who want to learn a little bit about the City of Frederick and what they can do and what services we do offer," Bowman said.

The last Frederick 101 was held three years ago. The City of Frederick staff say they hope to offer the program more often.
