FREDERICK, Md. - Frederick Community College has a new president.

After a nation-wide search and evaluating more than 60 applicants, Elizabeth Burmaster will succeed Doug Browning.

According to Frederick Community College, Burmaster will serve as the 10th President of the college and will assume the presidency on August 8, 2014. Burmaster is a Frederick native and a longtime educator.

Most recently, she was the president of Nicolet College in Wisconsin since 2009.

The college says its somewhat of a homecoming for Burmaster being that she once even took classes at FCC.
