In the early morning hours of Tuesday, April 1, 2014, the Frederick County Sheriff's office responded to a house on Apple Pie Ridge Road and found Andrew B. Lowder, 31, deceased from an apparent heroin overdose.
His remains have been transported to the Office of the Medical Examiner in Manassas for examination and autopsy.
Deputies say further investigation into the death by the Northwest Virginia Regional Drug Task Force resulted in two arrested later Tuesday afternoon.
Brandi Marple, 28, of Frederick County, Va., and Dennis K. Getz, 37, of Frederick County, Va., were taken into custody without incident. Each have been charged with one felony count of distribution of heroin. Both are currently being held at the Northwest Regional Adult Detention Center.
Deputies say Lowder's death brings the region's heroin-related death toll to 11 since Jan. 1, 2014.
Deputies are asking if you suspect someone you know is using heroin to please seek out treatment for that individual. They also ask if you see drug activity taking place to please notify you local police of sheriff's office.
