Police said on Monday, August 25 at 4:04 a.m. they were called to E Fifth Street for a reported rape. The female victim knew her attacker, and identified him as Khiree Denziel Curry, of Burtonsville, Maryland.
The woman told detectives she had gone to sleep and was awoken by the assault. After the attack, residents came to the woman's aid and forced Curry out of the home. They then called 911.
Around 8:30 a.m. Monday detectives with the Criminal Investigation Division attempted to find Curry in the 900 block of Heather Ridge Drive, where he was thought to be residing.
Police were able to locate Curry outside of a nearby residence, where he fled from detectives on foot. Curry was taken into custody while attempting to flee through a storm drain onto Ft. Detrick property after a brief foot chase. During the arrest, Curry continued to fight with police.
After the arrest, police said they were called to the 900 block of Heather Ridge Drive, where the resident reported Curry had broken into their apartment sometime after the assault through a bedroom window. Police said this resident and Curry also knew one another. Curry did not have permission to enter the property.
Curry is currently being held at the Frederick County Adult Detention Center. He's charged with second-degree rape, fourth-degree sex offense, second-degree assault, two counts of fourth-degree burglary, and one count of resisting arrest.
