FREDERICK COUNTY, Md. - Frederick's United Way held its sixth annual Stuff the Bus collection on Wednesday.

Each year businesses and citizens partner with the Frederick County Public Schools and the United Way of Frederick County to help provide students with the tools they need to start the school year off right.

This year was no exception, the FCPS bus made stops at several businesses to pick up collected school supplies. The supplies will be taken to the Central Office and then distributed to schools in need.

"Someone shows up and they don't have the notebook they need, or they don't have their pencils or a pencil sharpener. The teacher can be right there on the spot and say 'Hey I've got the supplies you need,' and respond to those students that need it," said Josh Pedersen, CEO United Way of Frederick County.

Organizers said this has been the biggest year yet. Last year they filled one bus, and this year they had to rent two buses just to hold all the supplies.
