"He was a very genuine person, he was a hard worker...always had everyone smiling," said Jillian Hershberger, a friend of Burdette's.
Burdette was involved in a deadly accident Sunday, where the 18-year-old died on the scene.
"Units arrived on the scene and found a single-vehicle accident with the subject trapped inside the vehicle," said Doug Alexander, the public information officer for the Mt. Airy Volunteer Fire Company.
According to authorities, Burdette was driving his 2000 Pontiac Southbound on Buffalo Road when the car struck a guardrail and a tree. Speed and alcohol are suspected to have played a role in the crash.
On Monday, Timothy's friends and family stopped by the scene, still in shock over his sudden death.
"He was just a good kid and never expected something like that to happen," added Hershberger.
