The truck travels across the United States and Canada meeting the needs of the hungry, the homeless, and disaster survivors. The campaign has fed nearly three million people in 48 states and four Canadian provinces.
It has also responded to disasters, as far back as the 1995 federal building bombing in Oklahoma City. Organizers said the Love Kitchen exemplifies a strong tradition of giving back to the community.
"We fed approximately 100 people, we brought the pizza in from our local Chambersburg shop here, we brought our employees in and Little Caesars drove in the kitchen and we cooked the pizza right here. And I think the Salvation Army people here today had a really good day," said Rashid Salahutdin, Little Caesars franchise owner.
Local Little Caesars owners and regional offices donate all food and labor. An estimated 50,000 Little Caesars franchise owners and employees have volunteered to support the program in their local community.
