Man Arrested for Domestic Assault and Abduction

- WINCHESTER, Va. - Winchester police arrested a man Saturday night for reports of domestic violence.

Lawrence Geisler, III, 34, of Cross Junction has been arrested with domestic assault, abduction, and brandishing a firearm.

It happened around 9:37 p.m. when police were called to the 100 block of South Loudoun Street in reference for a fight. Geisler left the scene by the time police arrived. Around 9:47 p.m., police were called to the 100 block of Piccadilly Street for a call of a man with a gun inside George Washington Hotel.

It turns out that man was also Lawrence; he walked out of a hotel room with what appeared to be a firearm. Lawrence dropped the gun and went back into the room. He was later taken into custody.

The gun was an airsoft rifle. An investigation revealed a domestic assault took place earlier in the evening in the hotel room. Lawrence assaulted a 30-year old woman and would not let her leave the room. The woman had an injury to her hand.

Lawrence was taken to the Northwestern Regional Detention Center. The case remains under investigation.
