The woman did not open the door and asked for the man, later identified as Ethan Hunter Estill, 20, to show an ID, which he claimed to have left in his vehicle, police said. Estill informed the woman that he was looking for a wanted subject and needed to enter her home.

Officers stopped and detained Estill, who admitted that he had been at the woman’s home and advised Martinsburg police that he was a police officer, yet he did not explain his reason for visiting the woman’s home. Police said Estill claimed his name was Joseph J. Skinner.
Officers arrested Estill for impersonating a police officer. Estill’s fingerprints were sent to the FBI who provided his true identity to Martinsburg Police, which Estill confirmed, Martinsburg Police said.
Officers said Estill was charged with false information in addition to his charge of impersonating a police officer, both through the Martinsburg Municipal court.
Estill is currently being held on $2,000 bond at the Eastern Regional Jail, according to Martinsburg Police.
