It happened Thursday, Feb. 6 around 9:52 p.m. along 5 East Main Street in Middletown.
Deputies say the vehicle was traveling westbound along Alternate 40 when it left the roadway. The vehicle crashed into the iron railing of a house in the area.
The vehicle continued west when it collided with a parked vehicle just east of Rt. 17, police say. The parked vehicle was then pushed several hundred feet, and damaged personal property as well as a building at the intersection of Alternate 40 and Rt. 17.
While on the scene of the accident, deputies saw suspected heroin and narcotics inside the vehicle. The driver, Justin Duvall Edwards, of Middletown, was transported to central booking after the accident.
Edwards is charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance with intent to distribute, and possession of narcotics paraphernalia.
The crash is currently under investigation, and traffic charges are pending.
