It happened Tuesday, August 26 at 12:38 p.m. along I-70 westbound, west of Rt. 75.
Maryland State Police determined that a 2013 Honda Ridgeline, driven by Roy Sailers, 50, of Gwynn Oak, Md., attempted to switch lanes when he struck a 2003 Dodge Dakota, driven by Sidney Dinges, 68, of Woodstock, Virginia.
Troopers said the collision caused the Dodge to strike the left guardrail and after bouncing off of it, struck the right guardrail. Both vehicles were damaged.
Dinges was transported by Medivac to R. Adams Cowley Shock Trauma in Baltimore with arm and leg injuries, state police say. Sailers was not injured in the crash.
State police said alcohol did not appear to be a contributing factor. I-70 was closed for about 30 minutes Tuesday. All lanes have since reopened.
