Man Wanted for Robbery in Winchester Could be Linked to Others

WINCHESTERVa. - A man wanted for a bank robbery in Winchester may have connections to other robberies across the tri-state area.

Police said the man shown in this surveillance photo robbed the United Bank, located off Front Royal Pike on Monday.

They said this suspect matches the description of other suspects wanted for bank robberies in MarylandVirginia and West Virginia.

Deputies said they're looking for a black male, in his early to mid-20's, 6'0" tall with a slim build and buzz cut. He was last seen wearing blue jeans, a white short sleeve button down shirt with blue pin stripes and sunglasses.

The suspect was also seen entering a late model four-door large frame sedan style late 80's to early 90's, faded burgundy in color, with no hubcaps and damage done to the rear bumper.

Investigators do not yet have a description for the driver of the getaway car.

If you have any information, the Frederick County Sheriff’s Office says tips should be called into the Crime Solver Hotline at (540)-665-TIPS (8477).
