Martinsburg City Police Chief Resigns

- MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - The Martinsburg City Police Chief has announced he is stepping down.

WHAG spoke with Chief Kevin Miller on Tuesday morning, who says he will be stepping down in June for personal reasons.

In his letter of resignation to Mark Baldwin, the City Manager, Miller says his effective date for resignation is June 12, and if a replacement is not found by that date, he will assist the department.

He says “It has been a pleasure working for you, City Council, and the citizens of Martinsburg as Police Chief. I am sincerely grateful that this opportunity presented itself, and am most appreciative of the invaluable experience I have gained over the past five years.”

Miller will return to the rank of Lieutenant, and continue serving in the police department.
