Md. General Assembly Bans Synthetic Marijuana

ANNAPOLIS, MD - A bill to ban spice, or synthetic marijuana, passed in the Maryland House of Delegates with a 138-to-one vote.

The bill outlaws the major chemicals used in spice.

The Maryland Senate passed the bill in March, and Governor Martin O'Malley is expected to sign it into law.

Last year, President Obama signed a federal law banning synthetic marijuana.
