WASHINGTON COUNTY, Md. - Maryland State Police are continuing to investigate the reported drive-by shooting in Hagerstown, and they're asking for the community to help find the suspect(s).

Troopers said the incident happened along the 20000 block of Jefferson Blvd, near Yingling's Golf Center sometime between 8 a.m. Wednesday and 7 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 28, 2014.

The elderly man who lives at the house has help that comes every morning, police said. On Wednesday morning they came to the house and saw nothing, but on Thursday morning when they returned, they noticed the damage and notified police.

State police said someone used a large caliber handgun to shoot through the screen door and front door of the elderly man's home. They believe this was an isolated incident and haven't found a motive for the shooting.

"If you hear anything out of the ordinary, no matter how small it might be, feel free to give us a call. We can come check it out, kind of help narrow down that time frame if they observed any unusual vehicles, people," said Tfc. Brent Fogel.

If anyone has information, they're asked to call Maryland State Police Hagerstown Barrack at (301)-766-3810.
