FREDERICK, Md. - Pine Cliff Park is usually filled with families and active children. However Friday morning, the story was different.

According to the Frederick County Bureau of Investigations, Kashaka Miller approached a female Frederick taxi cab driver with a pellet gun, demanding money. An incident that has the community startled.

"It does make me uncomfortable to hear that something like that has happened in this area that we come to frequently," said Katie Fay, a Frederick mom who brings her kids to Pine Cliff Park often.

The victim declined an on-camera interview but her boss said Miller, who was not a customer, put the pellet gun to the victim's throat.

"Our driver was a veteran taxi driver with many years experience. These drivers are more exposed to troubles, but she is experienced and she could handle the situation. Thank God no one was hurt in the process," said Mark Mohebi, owner of Frederick Taxi Company.

Miller got away on foot but was later discovered coming out of a wooded area. For locals who visit Pine Cliff Park regularly, the thought of someone causing harm in a family friendly area is troubling.

"It's a lot of little kids running around, and you know it kind of worries you that something like that would happen in a public place like this," said Suzanne Hillery, a Frederick resident and park visitor.

According to court documents, Miller is being held at the Frederick County Adult Detention Center with charges including armed robbery, first and second degree assault, and theft under $1,000.
