The third-annual Run For Your Luck 5k drew in about 700 participants this year.
"This year we added a 1-mile walk and a kid’s race,” said race organizer Karen Giffin. “So it keeps growing each year. It's for a great cause, it's a great day and it's very exciting."

Organizers say they hope to not only help a great cause but also encourage people to visit the downtown area.

First place runner Matt Gillette finished the 5k in only 15 minutes. He says he enjoyed the setting of the race.
"It was nice with the town, everyone's cheering you on as you finish so that was a really good addition to most 5k's I run,” said Gillette.
Runner Emily Ward was once again crowned first place female runner for the third year in a row. For her, it is a race that's not just about winning, but also celebrating St. Patrick's Day festivities with the community.
"I love St. Patrick's Day,” said Ward. “I just love the energy of this race. Everyone's so festive and hyped up and I love all the green and everything. It's really fun."
